BDIC has successfully held the first “Robotic Doggie Time Tracking Challenge” on 29 May 2025, culminating days of intensive workshops and training. Seven teams, comprising students from diverse programmes including BSc-DSBI, BMSIM, BBA-SCM, MSc-DSAI, and BSc-AC, showcased their technical skills and collaborative spirit.

The challenge required each team of 3-5 members to navigate their robot dog through a track, with the best three out of five attempts determining their cumulative time. The Decision Science Lab and the adjacent Learning Commons buzzed with excitement as teams put their learning into action.

This event not only highlighted cutting-edge research in robotic dog development but also fostered a vibrant atmosphere of creativity and camaraderie. All participants received certificates, with trophies awarded for Top Speed, Best Innovation, and Excellent Strategy. Prof. Chan Wai Sum, Dean of SDSC, and Dr. Daniel Mo, Associate Dean (Engagement and Undergraduate Studies) of SDSC presented the awards, commending the students for their remarkable efforts and contributions. The challenge was a testament to the innovative potential and unity within the HSUHK community.
