Background
Innovative technologies, with the recent focus on decision analytics, provide the main source of competitive advantages for the Hong Kong’s economic growth. Many companies have strong needs to transform and improve their business by innovative technologies, especially decision analytics which is considered as the next phase of artificial intelligence – using machines to make decisions, in real world, dynamic environments under different sources of uncertainty.

Decision Analytics Outstanding Award
With the collaboration efforts of academia and the government, this Decision Analytics Outstanding Award was established by Big Data Intelligence Centre (BDIC) in 2022. This decision analytics outstanding award aims to recognize outstanding decision analytics inventions and applications among industries, through promoting signature event of industry award. Thereby, more excellence Hong Kong’s talent and enterprises would be encouraged to pursuit of innovation and creativity on business and social needs. This industry award focuses on the impact of decision analytics technologies including, but not limited to, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data analytics, digital workforce, etc. Those technologies are considered as the major driving forces for the companies to compete in the dynamic business environment nowadays.

• Companies with outstanding achievements in decision analytics inventions and applications will be recognized and publicized.
• All winners will receive a trophy and certificate as a memento.
• Winners will be invited to attend the Award Presentation Ceremony and Dinner in June 2025 to celebrate the remarkable achievement.
• Submissions to the Decision Analytics Outstanding Award are Free of Charge.

• Entries will be divided into two categories, and there are two type of awards under each category.
• Category 1: Large Enterprises (Employee number >250)
  • Outstanding Business Analytics
  • Best Practice
• Category 2: Small and Medium Business (Employee number ≤ 250)
  • Outstanding Innovative Idea
  • Outstanding Data in Action

• The Award is open to all business sectors.
• All companies in Hong Kong and Greater Bay Area are welcome to submit the application.
• Companies with employee more than 250 will be considered as Large Enterprise.
• Companies with employee at most 250 will be considered as Small and Medium Business.
• The Organizer reserves the rights to make the final decision on the eligibility of entrants.

All entries will be assessed according to the following criteria:

• Management Strategy of Data Driven Decision
• Shown Case of Data Driven Decision Impact
• Robust Methodology of Decision Analytics
• Alternative Data in Future Plan
• Sustainability in Data Usage

• Stage I: Preliminary Screening and Shortlisting
  • Submission will be in the form of presentation slides for 20 pages-25 pages.
  • Submissions from all applicants will be screened and shortlisted by the Assessment Team.
• Stage II: Assessment
  • Shortlisted submission will be assessed by the Judging Panel, consisting of representatives from industrialists, experts and scholars.
  • The shortlisted entries may be asked to provide additional information or supporting documents if necessary.
• Stage III: Final Judging
  • Based on the assessment results and information provided, the Judging Panel will make the final decision regarding award recipients.
  • All decisions made by the judging panel is final.

• Format
  • Submission will be in the form of presentation slides for 20 pages-25 pages.
  • Submission can be written in Chinese or English.
  • Appendix with supplementary information can be provided.
